Joyce and her gang

a peak into a typical weekend

Staying busy is an understatement in our house. Half of the time I'm not sure who is coming and who is going. Thank goodness we have a Google calendar to share all of this with each other!

Friday
  • Connor spends the night with a friend
  • Josalyn hangs out at the Avenue until 11pm (a church teen center only for junior high kids- pretty cool)
  • Nick and I compete in the first WOD for the Crossfit Open
Saturday
  • Connor has a birthday party
  • Josalyn has soccer practice
  • Josalyn goes roller skating
  • Connor and Josalyn have friends spend the night
Sunday
  • Church
  • Ice Skating
  • Josalyn has soccer game
  • Enjoy the nice weather!
Of course we found time to get to the gym in all of the craziness! All three kids did a workout on Sunday. Josalyn rowed 1600 meters and then they all did 3 rounds (for time) of: 10 jump ropes, 8 box jumps, 5 push press, 8 burpees, 10 sprints. They had fun and I had fun running and cheering for them!

I also made some amazing meals. We had bacon, mushroom and Swiss chard on Friday. Saturday, I fixed a chipotle jicima salad and Sunday we had mozzarella and roasted tomato seasoning over grilled chicken. YUMMY!

another day at the bar

If you are reading my blog, I'm sure you've already heard me talk about Crossfit. I will try to post a few more pictures of Connor. Last night he was working on his double unders and he is up to five consecutive pull ups! Next month will mark our 2 year anniversary at Crossfit Heights!

my thoughts for Connor

I keep a journal for Connor. When he is grown, I will give him short stories and funny things he has done as a child. This was one thought I scribbled down that I wrote for him. I thought I'd share:

CONNOR

I asked God for a healthy baby. He gave me you.

I asked God to make your like your Daddy. He made you committed, driven towards your goals, a hard worker and a protector.

I asked God to make you like your Mommy. He made you outgoing, funny, a need to love life and compassionate.

I asked God to make you like Jesus. He gave you a heart that loves and cares for everyone. He gave you friends to share your love with and he gave you faith, trust, and love.

God has answered my prayers for you. You are no mistake. God made you exactly the way he wanted you to be.

I love you every day with every ounce of my being.

and we're back up and running!!!

Some time has passed since our last post...a lot of time. Originally, I started using this post to clean up my Facebook and keep the personal pictures for family and friends on here. It's time do do that again. I'm taking a break from Facebook. I have spent my lunch hour looking back through the pictures and stories on here and have really missed the blog!

I'm not much of a writer. I like pictures. I like stories. I like random thoughts. So, that's what one can expect with this blog.

Welcome back friends! Expect more!
